As many web projects will do, this grew into a repository for storing favorite recipes as well.
The site is easy enough to use, the left panel allows you to perform various types of searches as well as to add new recipes. Some of the functions of this site are password protected due to the nature of the Internet. If you would like Create/Update access, please send me an e-mail.
A special note about adding data. When viewing the data, you will notice that the Ingredients List, Instructions and Comments fields are displayed as bullet lists. This is done by looking for where you pressed RETURN (or ENTER) on your keyboard when entering the data. Thus, to make a bulleted list out of:
Preheat oven to 250. Grease baking dish
You would actually type in:
Preheat oven to 250.<RETURN>Grease baking dish
(<RETURN> means pressing the "Return" or "Enter" key on your keyboard.) Empty lines will be ignored. Your data will now look like:
* Preheat oven to 250.
* Grease baking dish
Deleting things from the database is even more restricted than adding or updating. If you add a recipe and need to have it deleted, your only option is to send me an e-mail telling me which recipe you need to delete and why. The best way to "delete" something is to edit it and replace the data with completely new values.
